Karangasem regency is one of nine districts / municipalities in Bali Province. District located in the eastern part of Bali Island is limited by the Lombok Strait in the East; West part limited by Klungkung, Bangli and Buleleng; Southern section bounded by the Indian Ocean, and the north by the Java Sea. The capital city of this district is Amlapura.

Karangasem regency precisely located in 8º00'00 "- 8º41'37,8" south and longitude 115º35'9,8 "- 115º54'8,9" east longitude. This district has an area of ​​83 954 hectares area, which consists of 8 districts: Karangasem, Abang, Kubu, Bebandem, Sidemen, Selat, Rendang, and Manggis.
